Anyone in the northwest know what the relationship between Palmer Boats and Shamrock Boats is? They sister companies of a larger corporation or something like that?

How about a Defiance boat made by Palmer; is it just an outboard model of the all inboard Shamrock line?

Anyone have a Defiance? What is your opinion of it?

Bo Palmer was making the Defiance line and then he recently bought Shamrock. They are totally different boats except it looks like he is using one of the Defiance topside molds to do a Shammy pilothouse. One thing he is doing is bringing back the keel drive inboard. He posts a lot over at

The Defiance boats are built in Washington and 2 or 3 of the Shamrocks are also built here. The rest of them are built down in Florida.

Pretty easy to barge one over to Hawaii but you'll have to go through their dealer in Port Orchard
