Anyone fishing the Roche Derby next week in the San Juans. I am heading up on Wednesday (from Everett) with the admiral to bring back the $10,000 cash first prize. It is really a great event.
Nope, but I fished the Rosario derby when it was invite only one year..the shotgun start was a hoot. Scratch fishing but that derby was about mo than fishing. Good hunting, hope you get the $
With all this rain lately the Sound in front of my place (Normandy Park ) is the color of a Starbucks drip coffee wth extra cream. However, the water will be a lot better up there. Good luck...I have heard that derby is a good time.
Hey tomictime...where do you live? I am just north of Poverty Bay( Normandy Park ) and lived in Des Moines for years..Had my boat in the marina - E Dock - for a long time.
Kathy and I fished with John Keiser (Salmon U) on Friday. We had our limit of 3 by 1:00pm. Didn't fish Satuday due to the brutal weather. Ended up with 2nd place in overall weight ! Silver Horde Coho killers behind a green/glow flasher did the trick. Right on the bottom is 120 ft of water.

about 1/2 mi N of saltys at redondo, woodmont beach. I keep my boat at desMoines yacht club at end of marina. Nice club with low foo-foo attitude. Boaters and good people. Where are you at?
way to go spud You are a real trouper to get out in that weather Sounds like you and John had a good time and thats what it is all about!! how many boats were out there?
Before I moved up the beach here to Normandy park I lived about 1/2 mile north of you on the water at a place called the Seashore Club. It is 13 small houses right on the sound just west of the Masonic nursing home. One of my neighbors from Des Moines is a long time yacht club member - Phil Hildebrandt -..small world. We looked at about 3 houses in Woodmont before buying on N Park.
