I have not made that run myself, but I can tell you it is a long and dangerous one. What kind of boat, what is your experience level, and when would you plan to do this?

I've never done it but I have made the run from Seattle to Neah Bay and subsequently as far as Cape Alava several times.

Seattle to Neah bay can be done in four hours in my 25' Whaler. Cape Alava is another 45 minutes out of Neah Bay for my boat.

Westport would be a 6-7 hour trip *if* the weather cooperated from Everett.

Tom makes a very good point. How long the trip is will depend greatly on the speed at which you will travel. This will depend greatly on the kind and size of boat as well as the weather.

I think you will be looking at around 200 miles. I will be making the trip and plan on running a portion of the time at 24 knots and when the water gets a little more interesting I will just slow down to 17 knots and slow cruise since once I get there the first thing I will be doing is running offshore so no sense in pushing it.

So I figure an 8-10 hr run and roughly 210 gallons of Petro.

Good News is that Westport has the best fuel prices around.
