I’m going on a two day charter trip soon and was looking for advice on proper tipping etiquette. Do most people tip captain and deckhand? What is considered a fair tip?

Yes, tipping is very important, especially if you catch fish. Another consideration is did the Captain keep it or you kept the fish (some charters, the captain keeps the fish)?

Unfortunately, I don't know how much. When I was younger, the captains never took my money (family friends or friends of family friends). I was expected to help afterwards (cleaning, polishing, re-rigging, maintenance of fishing rods/reels, etc.). I would give them any meal of choice (mom usually made them), and fishing lures that my uncle would give me to give to them. I did say when I was "YOUNGER" right?
