Searching around Travelocity and this seems to be a mutual agreement on a nice vacation spot. Has anyone ever been there for vacation? Which resort is the best overal and decent with pricing. Lookin for an all inclusive, 5 night stay (Hotel + Airfare)
Thanks for any help offered

I am leaving for Punta Mita on Friday for a week. We rented a house. Punta Mita is 30 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. I scheduled to fish with http://www.primetimeadv.com/. They have a 28 panga that they fish off shore with.
There is a page on bloodydecks that is dedicated to where to stay/fish/do in Puerto Vallarto / Nueveo Vallarta / and Punta Mita. Go look at it and it will have everything you need to know.
Thanks again guys, I believe I've got it narrowed down enough to make a decision.
What type of sportfishing is around there? What's a hot bite during that time of year? (I realize I can just google it, but I want input from my THT brothers & sisters)

That is the begining of the rainy season, so it will be cool when it rains, muggy when its not. Typically 88 days/76 nights+70% humidity.
You will find marlin, sails, tuna, mahi, snappers, jacks, rooster fish. Some cows may be around, big marlin and lots of big mahi. 80 sails are a pest. I would say that July is good, but that Halloween is peak season, especially if you want the +200 lb tuna.
Boats run $700-750 for a 31 Grady CC with an american captain, or the same with food on a 27' superpanga, or 750 for a diesel cruiser. Both boats have bathrooms and excellent captains.
All inclusive deals in luxury accomodations run $200 a day per person at Paridise Village and the boats can pick you up at their marina. Condos there run $85-100 for a 1-2 bedroom and there is a small mall with 10 resturants next door. Newer luxury stuff, great beach, private zoo, all very PP nice. I like the condos as I am out fishing and misss breakfast and luch at the minimum.
Can probably get you into a 2 bdrm 2 bath full kichen deal for around $100 a night.
If you by your airline tickets now, they are $300 from LAX, where if you wait, $450-600 will be more the norm, as an example.
Scott Osuna at Marla Sportfishing or Kurt at esperanza sportfishing would be my 1st choices for inhore/offshore stuff on a Cruiser or a 305 Bimini Grady at about $75 per hr. 6 hr inshore trips, 10 hrs offshore.
Lora out of punta Mita is also great, but you have to stay out at Mita where he's ocated and there is less to do for the girls. Mita is a 45 minute $50 cab ride each way from PV. But if its all guys and they want to hardcore fish, staying out there puts you 18 miles closer each way to the rock or the good inshore stuff. I recommend this guy highly. Lots of fun, young, good english, and he taught Josh.
Thanks for the info BS! I'll definetly take those in consideration. I'll most likely be the only guy going, so I figured I would have to go out a couple of days to get away from estrogen(sp?)

I will be down there july 1-5 hoping to fish 2 days. I will be by myslef , maybe one other, and if it comes down to it I will go by myself. If you want to share a boat let me know.
The fishing down south here is not exactly great, but there is still some fun to be had. We went fishing just about a week ago and caught 3 sierra in about 1 hour, so thats pretty good if so say so myself.. I do not know exactly what is going on in Puerto fishing because I am about 3 hours south where the fishing is generally good year round. If you are intersted at all check out Barra De Navidad fishing and see if anything appeals to you, there is a great beach with awsome fishing and an amazing resort right on the marina....but if you are going to Puerto for sure I definately suggest you go to Nuevo Vallarta, it is the newest part of town with beautiful resorts and beaches, very nice area for sure.
