It doesn't look like we will be in the Vancouver area long enough to work that in. We are flying in and out of Seattle. Nice website though!

Oh thanks. haha. Too bad about not being in Vancouver though, not necessarily just because of the fishing though, just because (although I am bias) the Van area is just gorgeous, and Whistler. Alaska cruise is beautiful as well. You guys will have fun! Be sure to make a trip up to see Whistler and the rest of BC if you haven't already! Enjoy your trip

Not much in Skagway and I don't know what is offered at Icy Point but you will be there at the peak of the Coho run..I would say Icy Point ( If there are any charters) will be the best shot.

You should be tendered close to either Gustavous, and right across Icey straits is Hoonah. Each of these villages have charters, I would guess that may be able to get permission to pick you up and drop you off at the cruise boat. The fishing is great out of Hoonah or Gustavous with abundant halibut and salmon fishing just few minutes away..... The only hitch may be if you are in glacier bay the Charter operator must have a concessionars permit....

Thanks finadict. There is a member who pm'd me that runs a boat out of Gustavus. They specialize in 5-day inlcusive tours, but he suggested that they are not fully booked all summer and may be able to do a day trip.

We are going to do a family whale watch tour in Juneau, followed by a visit to Mendenhall Glacier and if there is time we may go up the Mt. Roberts Tram. In Skagway, I have a car rented and we are going to drive up to the Emerald Lake area. I found a mile by mile narrative at www.murraysguide.com. The scenery looks awesome. We have not decided what to do while at Icey Point, but I wouldn't mind wetting a line. The only downside is there may not be much for my wife and daughter to do. We'll see how it works out. If I don't get to fish it would be OK. Coming from Central Florida it will be great just being there.

Hoonah charters cater to the large cruise ships. The business is so poor one operator moved his second boat to Gustavus (putting both in Gustavus).

I sent you another PM.

Enjoy your trip!
