You can get a wide load permit in WA at any truck stop. All regs/laws pertaining to loads over 102" are federal.

I haven't a clue about BC.

We trailered our 305os Pursuit from Lopez Island up, and only needed a permit in Washington....which IMC arranged for us. In BC, we didnt (and still don't) need anything as far as I know...and the beam on this boat is 10' 6"

yo dss44,
you need a permit for over width. just get in line and tell them when and how long you need it and pay the cost (minimal) and you'll be legal.
you r risking transport canada or other governing bodies stopping you and forced to drop the trailer until you get the proper papers.
i'm 99% sure of this.

Just got some info yesterday. BC Ministry of Transportation will supply a one month permit, and they require flags on the corners. Washington DOT will supply a one month permit, and they require an oversize load sign. Costs are 30 and 20 dollars.

Exact info is at my work computer, so I may have department names a little mangled.

I do know that trailers above 2800 Kilo can't use surge brakes and a standard ( passenger car ) drivers licence won't let you tow a trailer above 4600 Kilo in B.C.

Well...we only trailer it twice a year anyway.
