 BEWARE OF THIS EBAY SELLER!
I really don't buy a lot of stuff on ebay, and all of my transactions have been great, except for one... The sellers name is " dirtyolman35 ". In my opinion he's a scam artist. I bought a Newell G338F from him back in Sept. I bid once on the reel and "won" it. The reel was decribed as in "excellent condition". The auction # is 290154731557. There was only 1 picture in the auction of the right side of the reel, I guess this should have sent up red flags. When I get the reel, it's not as described. It's a bunch of mismatched parts, compiled to make a reel. The reel is actually a "G", "NO-LETTER", "C" & "S" series compilation, not a G338F. Only the right side was a "G" series. I questioned the seller on his knowledge of reels, and Newells reels, I thought he just didn't know at first, and I played dumb as far as my Newell Knowledge goes. The seller said he was very knowledgable,{BUSTED!}, right then and there I knew he was trying to scam me. I asked him a few questions, and he would not respond. I checked his feedback, I guess I should have done this first. It looks pretty bad to me... complaints about bad reels, decribed as good. I told the seller that I wanted my money back, and he started to be a jerk. He told me that he was only going to refund the price of the reel. He wanted me to send it back and pay for all of the shipping... let's see... got a messed up reel, over charged on frieght, and now he wants me to pay more money to send back a scam reel... F THAT! I got a bad feeling about this guy and told him that I would send the reel back frieght cod and signature required. The seller said that if I shiped it frieght cod/signature required he would refuse it. I ended up disputing the charges off of my credit card, and sent the reel back. The seller also tried to bully me into not leaving bad feedback, he said he would leave me bad feed back. I wasn't going to leave any feedback, until he threatened me. This seller is very deseptive, and in my opinion very dishonest. I've been using, selling and fishing with Newell products since the early '70's. This is a ******* reel, and watch out if it show's up on ebay again. Just a heads up guys... BEWARE OF DIRTYOLMAN35! Sellers like this give ebay a bad reputation.
