No, Sea Tow and Vessel assist are diff in SD.
Yeah, I know I can research them online.
I was hoping to get input from SD natives about actual service they have received.
I have vessel assist have used them twice in about 10 years they did a great job both times. (short tow into the harbor)
Never have used Sea Tow so I can't say about them.
Boating So CA and have used VA/BoatUS a number of times - always a good experience. Can't say one way or the other about Sea Tow, although I do seem to see more VA boats than I do Sea Tow. That could be an important factor in response time when you need them.

We have Sea Tow. That being said, we were in Two Harbors (Catalina Island) last month with a battery problem. Called Sea Tow, who advised that they do not have any boats on Catalina Island. They said that they would have to respond from the mainland. To their credit, they did arrange to have a harbor patrol boat set to help me out, but we resolved the problem prior to needing the help. I believe I saw Vessel Assist boats in the harbors on the island.
