I will be traveling down the Oregon coast soon, and I'm looking for sightseeing opportunities. I have already used several resources and come up with a few ideas, but I'm really interested in a couple hidden gems or even if some well known attraction is way better than the rest, so what are the hidden gems and what is the best of the best.

This is not a fishing-oriented trip. It's just a regular vacation ... me, my wife and two children (12 & 9).

visit cannon beach, or seaside, check out the columbia river maritime museum in astoria( lots of coast guard stuff) newport has a really cool bayfront and the aquarium there is neat to see. depoe bay is kinda fun with some whales usually spouting around in the ocean there. all the coast towns have their own little quirks,

where is you starting point and your ending point on the oregon coast??
