Default 2012 Ram 2500 Hemi 4x4

I just ordered a new Ram with the vvt Hemi. I couldn't justify getting the diesel, I just don't tow enough to spend an extra $10k. I have a 6000lb boat/trailer combination and my Ram 1500 did quite well pulling it but I wanted to get something with a little more beefier frame. I'm also looking into getting a light weight 5th wheel camper here pretty soon. Anyone else have this truck, and if so, how do you like it??

I have a 2011 2500 Crew cab 4x4 that I love, it rides great and pulls awesome. Usually can't even tell a trailer is back there. I cant speak for the Hemi as mine has the Cummins, but I would imagine the truck is the same with a different motor. Enjoy your new Ram.

Got hemi in my truck. Pulls fine but wish I had the cummings since most of what I use my truck for is towing. Gas mileage sux but I understand newer ones do better

I have a 2006 RAM 2500 5.7L Hemi 4x4 Quad Cab. It pulls my boat and more importantly stops my boat with ease going through the California coastal hills. Plenty of power and have had zero problems with it. My boat weighs around 6,400 lb's. I only use my truck for recreational purposes so not a lot of miles are put on yearly. I would like to get better mileage but couldn't justify spending the extra $$$ for a diesel either. When I am not towing I just drive it around for fun.

I had a 2010 Hemi 4x4 with 4.10 gears. Pulled great and when not towing got 19 mpg on the highway. Traded for a diesel and regretted it. You will love it.

Why did you regret getting the diesel?

Nice combo, your boat is awesome, looks a lot like my wellcraft. I ordered the laramie trim, got the truck for 39k, got 18k for my 05 1500 hemi. It's been nice not having a vehicle payment but I'm not married yet and I wanted to get this truck and have it paid for before I start a family and all that good stuff.

I loved my 05 1500 hemi. I really hated to get rid of that truck but I can't justify having three vehicles aorund the house. That truck really had good power, so the new truck will be awesome. I'm starting to chomp at the bit for this thing to come in .

Milage was worse (plus increased cost of diesel vs gas), 3 gallon oil changes every 3k miles. Didn't tow as well as my hemi did. (I blame that on getting the 6 speed manual and 3.42 gears)

I have a 09 hemi. First year for the bump in power. I pull my boat across country all the time. I get about 12 mpg pulling the boat and with the new fuel save mode where it shuts off 4 cylinders I get 19-20 mpg when I’m not pulling the boat and on the highway. That is until you put your foot into it then you can almost see the fuel gauge move.
