Default VIN number for GM/Chevy Transmission

I am looking for a GMC or Chevy 2500 as well as a F250 V10. I am learning that a V10 is not the easiest thing to find (see my other post). I am having a hard time telling which transmission is in the GM 2500. I am assuming the 2500s are like my 1500. If so what first three VIN numbers indicate the 4.1 rearend and can I tell if it has the L60E (might have the wrong letters) or the other transmission?

I am looking for a gaser so I know they dont have the Allison. Just wondering about the other transmissions.

These codes are for the Suburban, but they may cross to the pickups as well.

The 4L60E has two different codes- M30 and M32 (HD version). The 4L80E also has two codes, MT1 and MN8 (8.1L V8 version).

The 4.1 axle code is GT5, GT4 is 3.73, GU6 is 3.42. G80- Positraction limited slip, G82- limited slip.

The 8.1L engine came with the Allison. Have to step up to a 2500HD, though.

Most of the 4-speed 6.0 1500HD and 2500 have the 3.73, the 2500HD and 3500 will be 4.10.

I haven't kept up with the newer 6-speed trucks.

I was recently shopping for a used late model truck, before I got tired of the used truck market and decided to go new. A lot of used trucks will list the VIN, and running them through the decoder listed below gave me a ton of information on each truck for example 4x4, axle ratios, transmissions, and other important options. I found it very useful, especially when I was trying to find the gm 6.0 gasser in 4.10 axle ratio. It also was useful for fords, since I was trying to avoid the 6.0 diesel.
