Default 2004 F150 Code ?

Hi, Last night my 2004 F150 FX4 5.4l starting running very rough and eventually popped a code. The code is P0012 Camshaft Position Actuator A Bank 1 Timming over retarded. This afternoon it started back running like normal, and I unhooked the battery and cleared the code. So far all seems fine but I thought I might want to replace what ever is wrong so that I don't get 100 miles from home and have something go bad. Do you think It is the Cam Sensor or the VCT Solenoid ?

If it has only thrown the code once I would not replace anything yet. I seem to recall that you should reset the code via a code reader rather then unhooking battery but I can't remember the reason and this may only be for older f150's.

I figure I'd give it a little time before I did anything. I'll be taking it in a few days to the guy who does maintaince for me to service the tranny anyways. So I figure I get him to take a look then,
