After all of these years of purchasing $4-$7 bearing seals, NAPA (thanks BAMA!) has $14-$32 seals as well as the cheap ones! I had to ask the guy what the difference was. He said better seal material, different seal design, better spring. They even have a one year warranty!?

Hate to show my ignorance, AGAIN, but is anyone using these "deluxe" seals and have they rid you of occasional water intrusion problems?

Better quality seals use better, long lasting rubber, and normally a stainless steel garter spring to keep the seal lip in contact with the shaft. They have a coating on the o.d. to prevent water from leaking around the seal.

And they are made to tighter tolerances so everything runs more concentric.

If you buy cheap, you usually get cheap.
