Remove the 6.0 put a 5.9 cummins in and have the best of the best. That is the best answer available.

Get a paint job, '05 front end (lights, grill, bumper) new wheels and tires, and get your interior pepped up with new carpet, professionally reupholster the seats, and wala.......new to you truck. My wife has a 7.3 Excursion and we just did the interior and the truck is perfect. WILL NOT GET RID OF IT....EVER!

The 06-07.5 Duramax classic with the LBZ and Allison is the best motor that GM put out and thats also before the emissions controls. You can find them with fairly low miles and there are some decent deals out there if you have a little patience. The New GM's for 2011 are supposed to be just as nasty as the Powerstrokes. They are doing away with the LMM and going to the LML. I am hesitant on both trucks though because I don't like buying the 1st year of anything. There is a lot of hype about this new Ford just like when the 6.0 was about to come out and look what happened. One thing that needs to be noted since there has been something said about Isuzu building the Duramax. International is NOT making the new Powerstroke. It is completely in house for Ford which seem like kind of a bait and switch since most don't realize it and it is not advertised. The 2011 HD's from both GM and Ford will be interesting.

This is why FORD is calling it the SCORPION and dropping the POWERSTROKE from it.

I didn't see that, good catch. It is called the Scorpion but they are keeping the Powerstroke badges.
