I am looking to get everyone opinion on this boat shield. The web site will be up next week and will be advertising here, but I think that it is about time thier is something to cover my windshield and protect it from the road deupry and eveything else from the road.

OK, I am lost. What is it?

It protects my windsheild from road debris? Like a deflector on the hood of the car or is goes on the boat/trailer?

Yes, I got tired of bugs, rocks and sand hitting my wind shield. It is on the boat now.

depends on price and how often you tow long distances that would require the use of it.
might consider keeping a 6-8" roll of stretch wrap on the boat for that instead.

Looks nice. I guess it can get buggy at times in certain parts of the country!
Gorgeous boat, can see why you want to keep it that way!

Exactly what I do... Except I use a wider roll, like 12" and I agree with bc22, I wouldn't go the Saranwrap route every weekend.
This is after 1200 miles at highway speeds (NJ-FL)..

Well it will not be for eveyone I don't guess, but I have used saranwrape once and it went everywhere and took allot.
This really does work very well and helps keep all the wind off my isingglass.
Thanks for the response, will be looking to give THT members a discount.
Their will be two modles one will be for a 32' to a 39', and the other will be 21' to 32'.
Price will be $689.00 for the larger one and $624.00 for the smaller one.

is that in American money?? Assuming that you posted with the desire to get some feedback, this is my opinion of that price point.

The key to keeping the Saranwrap from coming off is to give it a strategically placed finish wrap here and there with 2" packing tape paying special attention to where the wrap ends.

$600 Sounds like an optimistic number, but then I don't have a $300k boat either...

Why so pricey? What is it made of? For that kid of money one could get a custom canvas helm cover made and protect the whole helm.

Not for me at that price, sorry.

It is made out of aluminum and hinged in the middle, it is painted with interlux paint(powder coat is an option) but not that much of a savings. Stainless steel bolts and allot of fab work.
And yes Bamaboy, I like your feed back good or bad.
We are trying to get the cost down but it will be hard. We are devloping a less expensive model that is not made out of aluminum.

How about a piece of LEXAN? Materials and fabrication would be a fraction of what you are using now.

The USCG uses a piese of black mesh fabric that they suspend in front of their front windows when trailering. I would think you could get that made for not alot of money, plus it rolls up and is easy to store.

Thats the same thing I do. I use a 18 inch roll of pallet wrap. Takes all of 5 minutes. Its GREAT for bugs.

I've got a six hour roundtrip tow anytime I use my boat. Bugs and road crap are definitely an issue. However, my windshield is glass and it cleans up easily. My primary trouble spots are the leading edge of the t-top and the radar. They get so deeply plastered with critter carcasses that it takes polish to remove the jucier ones!

If it bothered me enough to spend that sort of money, I'd either have a custom dodger made for the console, or get a deflector for the roof of the truck.

Absolutely beautiful boat, by the way!

petrel said a lot when he mentioned the other things that get buggy. In your boat's case, the radome, T-top leading edge, GPS antenna, etc. If you travel through luv-bug country, you're bound to be spending time cleaning the crap off your boat before you get it wet.

Having a clean windshield is nice, but a form of travel cover (Sunbrella?)to protect the whole console section would seem to do a more complete job.

Are you sure you have the decimals in the correct place

Not to bust your bubble but thats A LOT of money for what it does. You might want to consider using 4-8 mil plastic corrugated........that gives me an idea
