Looks nice. I guess it can get buggy at times in certain parts of the country!
Remember, I was being nice in my initial post, you drew first blood...
I see now you have a website started! That'll bring the orders in droves, can't wait to see all the testimonies from users.
Wow... Now silver bullshit is trying to tell us that the $700 miracle shield helps keep everything on the enclosure clean, eisenglass, zippers, not just the postage stamp windshield area shown. Where is Billy Mays when you need him? I guess this explains why the price depends on how big the boat is rather than how big the shield is...
But hey nasty little troll, you got Joe & fmTuna interested... Fish On!!!
...second note to self... if I develop a product and initial research and reviews (that I got for FREE, no less) are not to my liking....nay, seem even to pan my idea with humor (as opposed to insults), I need to ask myself whether my skin is thick enough and my ego strong enough to bring this product to market.
If I find myself rising with anger at those that think my idea is silly...then I've learned that I'm not cut out for product development or sales.
I shouldn't quit my day job...

I am looking to get everyone opinion on this boat shield. The web site will be up next week and will be advertising here, but I think that it is about time thier is something to cover my windshield and protect it from the road deupry and eveything else from the road.

I find 180 grit sandpaper removes love bugs very quickly. This thread is hilarious. Your kind and gentle demeanor will no doubt get you many referrals.
Maybe you could make a large size, say 8 x 10 feet, mounted to the front of the boat. $17K plus shipping.

Easy there Afish..I've got no use for that thing. I just told what i think it would sell for. Some folks will buy anything at the right price--I'd never buy one.

Why not just have a complete cover made for the front and console out of canvas that will cover the seat too, thats what i have.
agreed, about the complete cover, Deep Run; and while you're at it, make another cover for those engines. Emboss or stencil WASABI on both of them for the OEM look. If I trailered my boat or left it outside, I'd pay $350 for a set of those IF they could be made to not flap around in the wind...and that's the challenge that canvas brings to the table.

Silver bullet,
do this... tow your boat 100 miles without shield and record tow vehicle fuel burn (X1) and now install shield and tow the same 100 miles with same tow vehicle and record tow vehicle fuel burn (X2). Now subtract X2 from X1 which equals fuel saved; now multiply by $3.00 (estimate of fuel per gallon) and then multiply by 30 (number of trips that it will take for customer to recover the cost of your shield) ... now you have a selling price for your shield, if that is not at least double the cost for manufacturing and marketing cost, well you might not have a product.
Good luck with your product

hmm, his shield will cover an existing windshield, so there won't be any change in airflow over the boat, meaning no savings in fuel.
The OP's intent was a windshield that he doesn't have to risk scratching by cleaning bugs off of it; not fuel savings. His eisenglass snaps are corroded and he doesn't want to try to remove the windshield for traveling is what my take is that he invented this shield.

Aluminum is overkill. Put 4 suction cups on a cheap piece of plexiglass and drill a few holes to secure it with bungies or cord. It's a good idea, just a little too much.

And my point was that if there is no savings monetarily, then it is probably of little to no value to the customer and he might not have product that the trailer boating community finds value in.
If you don't want bug mash on your CC windshield, another approach would be to apply a coating of diluted dish detergent to the windshield and let dry prior to trailering your boat to your destination and when you get to your destination just rinse everything away. Liquidnox (SP) is a great detergent for this since it is a de-proteinator (SP) and bug mash is most proteins ...Liquidnox works great in your car window washer reservoir too.

I guess it depends who makes it, i don't have any problem with mine, and it covers the entire console and fits snugly on the windshield.
