Fords engines are known for their torque, thats why you see so many in ski boats, and have allways had very reliable power trains, but what good is it when you can't get an inspection sticker becouse your hanging muffler has no frame cross member to attatch to becouse it rotted away. You can sit in the house, look out the window and watch the body rot.
On the other hand, Dodge engines and powertrains may not have as good a history as the Fords, but the bodies hold up much better under corrosion.
Don't take my word for it, take a walk through a big junk yard in your area and look around. You'll see 20 year old Dodge B200 (whatever) vans with no tires, sitting up to thier rocker panels in mud with solid bodies.
I'd consider the Dodge, especially if near salt water or cold climate area's that salt the roads in the winter.
Just my opinion. |
