I'd check Eastern Marine also, they actually responded to some email questions I had, plus I believe they advertise on THT.

Another vote for Eastern Marine. I have been dealing with them for 4 years. Fast service and good prices.

Bought my new "free backing brakes" and new hubs and drums from NORTHEAST Marine industries. Great prices, quality parts, Quick delivery.

Just FYI, I have bought several items from Eastern in the past, but recently had to return a brake acctuator I purchased that was in the original box that had never been opened, and of course never used, and was shipped back to them exactly like it was received a few days prior. Eastern contacted me and told me they received the brake acctuator, but when they inspected it they found it was damaaged, and they would not issue me a refund. Now they claim it was packed properly and forced me to file a claim with UPS even though there was no damage to the box. I doubt I'll ever get a cent from UPS, and I doubt I will ever use Eastern again.

UPDATE:
Eastern contacted me today and told me that although they filed the claim with UPS, UPS would only communicate with the UPS store through which I returned the brake acctuator, and Eastern was out of the picture. The UPS store also contacted me and told me that UPS had denied the claim for damage as in their opinion the brake acctuator was not packed properly. So now I'm out $320 for a brake acctuator I purchased from Eastern Marine, and returned in an unupoened box exactly like it was received from them.

Good luck with your purchases from Eastern Marine, based on this experience they will never get my business again, and I have spent thousands with them on similar items in the 20+ years I have been boating.

Did they at least send you back the so called damaged actuator? You did pay for it right?

Yes of course, I paid for it... But no, they never sent it back, and all I have is their word that it was damaged, there was no written notice of damage on the delivery confirmation. It still seems funny that they claim it was so badly damaged that it was destoyed in the shipment from my house in the Wash DC area to thier location in Newark, DE about 100 miles away, but they still accepted the shipment from UPS without any questions.

Chris from Eastern called me yesterday for apparently no other reason than to vent a little and seemed a little upset that I posted my experience here on THT. Sorry you are taking it personally Chris, but I'm totally out for $320 on an item I returned just as I received so WELCOME TO MY WORLD! Chris also stated (FOR THE FRIST TIME) that they intended to make it right for me all along with comments about my post here on THT. Funny this was never mentioned before in the numerous times we have talked about this.

So for the record, yes I have been charged $320 plus shipping for the brake acctuator, they claim the brake acctuator was destoyed beyond repair by UPS between my local UPS store office and their location 100 miles away, and they have not yet issued me a credit for the return.

If Eastern Marine does in fact "make it right" and issue me a full credit I will be the first to post an update here on THT. Thankfully the individuals like most of us on THT have this forum to share information, and it is clear that this message did get back to Eastern so our collective voice is being heard.

The reason RideSober is getting a refund in full is not because of his comments on THT. He is getting a refund in full because the package that Eastern Marine originally sent out was deemed "insufficient packaging" upon inspection. There are specific steps that need to be taken when dealing with UPS and damages. We do not immediately issue a refund when in negotiations with UPS about damage product as they sometimes pay for or partially pay for the damaged package. Being that this package was shipped on a UPS account other then ours, the process may take a little longer then the normal eight business days. Customer service is of utmost importance to us and we strive to make every customers experience with Eastern Marine a favorable one.

Eastern Marine has been an active advertiser and supporter of THT over the years and we value the input of all it's members.

Default Trailer Parts

I just ordered Kodiak brakes from Champion and they were great to deal with. The 5% discount for ordering online was just about enough to cover the shipping charge.

I am happy to see Eastern Marine is working on this problem. I have been happy with them and was surprised to see that someone was having an issue. Hope it works out.
