The kit I purchased was $1,600 and included 8 custom tunes, 4" downpipe back exhaust and a filter upgrade. But, there are cheaper routes to accomplish the dpf delete. #2 only for me, haven't heard of anyone running bio in the 6.4. Might run on bio, I'm not sure if the piezo electrics would like it though...although the fuel that got through the filters would probably be clean enough. How well is the bio filtered before you put it in your tank?
I have a 2008 6.4 powerstroke that I pull my 32' Intrepid with. The truck pulls great with plenty of power...but the fuel milage is terrible. I'm getting 8 mpg if I'm lucky.

Ahhh, lovin' my '03 7.3 diesel!
Only have 120,000 miles with standard maintenance, hope to get 300,000 on her.
I don't have the bells & whistles that the newer ones do, but they are worthless if your engine takes a crap.
I resisted buying an '08, I'll keep the '03 until a better motor is tried and proven by the masses.
ditto, except an 02
i keep debating the veggie oil thing. i have done some research but cant seem to pull trigger

Right now im filtering it 3 times before I pump it into my tank. 1st is through a steal mesh(30micron) 2nd I transfer it from my collection tank to storage tank(15 micron) last filteration in when i pump it into my tank, I use a (5-10micron filter). I only put in the cleanest oil I can find. Chinese resturants have the DIRTIEST oil! I usually get a good batch from Burger King or small family rests.
I am in the process of adding another tank to my truck. I will have it start & shut off on Diesel. Once my motor warms up I will hit the switch & run Veggie. Keeps the fuel lines clean when the truck is not used for more than 3 days. Also will add a heater to the veggie tank, when it gets cold. I have noticed a slight decrease in power, but it idle's & runs soo much SMOOTHER!
Do a search on Google, to get more info. There is a couple diff ways to do it. As for now Ive been doing it for about 6 months. I run Diesel every other tank to clean the tank until I get a 2nd fuel tank for the Veggie

That is about what I get 7 or 8 mpg pulling a 31 Conteder except I have a 2002 V10. I am surprised that your economy is so low. The only reason I would consider a diesel is to boost my economy pulling the boat to the ramp. Is that a normal economy?
don't get caught on the street without the dpf on there. If you take it off at least leave the muffler on so it is not so obvious. Cops are knowledgable about this around these parts and if they hear a newer diesel truck with loud exhaust they will pull your ass over, look under the truck and then write you a big ass ticket.....very big.
Plus, it is a big red flag on your new truck when it is shooting out black smoke like a 94 powerstoke
Keep in mind, for those in love with the F450's of today and past. Gone on the 2011 F450's are the bigger brakes, 19.5's, taller gears, bigger rear end, etc. The 2011 F450's are glorified 350's to put it simply. I loved my '05 6.0L, the biggest problem was it hated to run. The now "older" 450's were sexy.

Brother thats what I got just driving back and fourth to my boats to check on them, oh and I was totally empty.

I can't imagine that is right??? I know that they get less economy at first before break in.. I have never had a diesel. When should the break in help deliver more substancial milage?
I have a 2002 7.3 with 109,000 on it. Runs like a champ and has loads of power. Hope to see her turn 300,000. You can keep your new truck with all the emissions. No cats or DPF here.

08 F450 dually club cab 4x4 auto with 4.30 gears gets 13.5mpg in mixed driving emply and 7.5mpg towing 16k lb 5th wheel at 70-75 mph. My boat weighs a couple thousand lbs less than the loaded 5th wheel, 13K lb triple axle trailer, but I only get 6.5 - 7 mpg towing the boat at the same speeds. The truck is strong enough to pull a house off its foundation but the mileage is nothing to brag about, 3.73 gears would have been better for my purposes if they were available.
Compared to my 01 F250 V10 4x4 auto supercab, the new truck is a pleasure to drive when towing, it's much more comfortable and doesn't sound like its going to come apart at 5500 rpm on the hills.

Sucks gas and hauls ass!
One step ahead and you are a genius, two steps ahead and you are a misfit.
I am really suprised to see such low MPG on the diesel. I thought that MPG was a key advantage over the V10 gas. Since I am not pulling the boat as often and diesel costs more to begin with, I would have a hard time justifying the expence. I have close to 190,000 on my truck and it runs great.
