Default 2009 GMC 2500 with 6.2 gas

I have a buddy that has a 2009 2500HD and he indicates it has a 6.2 gas. I have heard of the 6.0 but not 6.2 in that vehicle. The web site does not show the 6.2 as a available engine. Anyone seen one?

That is a flex fuel E85 motor...only available in the SLT. 403hp 417 f/lb torque.

I thought they were coming out w/ the 6.2 in '10? Or do they mean that the 1500 will be available w/ the 6.2?

You can get the fancier 1/2 ton GM trucks with the 6.2 as an option... same engine as in the Denali and Escalade. I am not aware that they are offering that engine in the 3/4 tons... just the 6.0 gas and the 6.6 diesel in the 3/4 and 1 ton GM's.

GM doesn't offer it in the 3/4 or 1 tons. Afraid the aluminum heads won't hold up.

Picked up my new GubMit Motors 09 2500HD w/the 6.0 365HP 6 speed last Friday. Time to go back to a work truck that will plow snow. Hopefully a 2530XL Parker will be in the rear mirrors shortly. Time will tell.

I have one in my 08 Denali AWD . I love it it pulls like an animal. It can pull my intrepid 246 out of the ramp at just about dead idle. The only thing I dont like is the gas mileage 12.3 city other than that I dont have any complaints.

I have the 6.2 in my 07 Escalade. Love the way it sounds and runs...Gas milage is bad but I did not expect much there. First vehicle I have ever owned for 3 years.
