Default Drum to Disc

Have a SeaLion Trailer, want toreplace drum brakes with disc brakes. How can I be sure bolt pattern will line up with axle?

4 bolt flange that your drums are attached to on the end of the axle is a standard pattern. New ones should bolt right up. To be sure you might wanna contact Sea Lion Trailers(Google 'em up) and confirm, but it is a pretty standard thing.

Highly suggest don't buy Tie Down disc brakes...some have good result, but many have have had problems like me w/no customer support...cheap parts make for expensive headaches...JMHO...

Make sure you also replace the actuator because drum and disk actuators are different.

Have decided to go with the Kodiac with new actuator, now deciding if one axle or both. NJ only requires one have brakes. May go with one and add second next summer.

Do 'em both. With brakes on one axle the trailer could still push the tow vehicle into a jackknife even with the brakes locked.

I did that. It's much easier to do the both at the same time. And it stopped a lot easier with brakes on both axles.
