Default Loadmaster Trailers

Just a follow-up about quality boat trailers. Last winter I polled the question about what quality trailer would you buy for a new 23 foot rig?

Well my new Everglades couldn't be happier seating on top of a Loadmaster. There were several quality trailers manufactures mentioned that came up high in the query. Some good recommentations. I decided on Loadmaster. They design a overbuilt I beam aluminum bunk trailer that has worked flawlessly throughout the season. I probably launch at least 60 times this season. Still looks new and the brakes/lights work flawlessly.

They designed the trailer to fit my hull perfectly. No problem in centering the boat during strong winds. The guide posts are extremely strong when centering a heavy boat. Some tend to yield on other models. On the high way it tracts beautifully and stable. No sway! The 1,200 mile trip home was a piece of cake picking up the boat.

Great service!

I had issues with a overboard drain near the keel line with a large bronze helmet. That wasn't there fault, but they worked tirelessly to solve the problem. We replaced the front centering wood bunks with a "V" bar design. With a lower profile and less contact, the fitting now clears the the trailer frame.

Thanks guys .... for the feed back!

I have the same trailer for my boat. You get what you pay for.

With LoadMaster, I got more than I paid for. Two 2000 mile tows every year. After 7 seasons, not a problem.

Capt. Ray,

What's the model number and GVWR of your trailer? Thanks.

Model # 22-23-86TD Approx wt of trailer alone - 1120 lbs.

If you break down the code:

22-23 means length of boat
86 means trailer wgt plus max boat limit = 8,600 lbs.
TD - Tandem, Disc.

My rig equiped with motor and full fuel probably comes in around 5,500 lbs. That give me an extra safety rating of about 3,000 lbs. besides the built in industry safey factor. The larger brakes are a plus. Going to a much larger trailer may have raised the trailing height by an inch or so over a lesser capacity trailer. It hasn't been a problem.

Unfortunately Steve, they have no dealers in the Rhode Island area. Able to deal direct being a commercial guy. They shipped the trailer over to Everglades a trip of about 120 miles. When the boat was built Everglades had the trailer/boat ready to go.

Me too. I only live an hour away from the factory and ordered mine a week ago and it should be ready by the end of this week or the first of next. This will be my 5th Loadmaster, and there is no question in my mind that a quality trailer sitting under your boat helps sell the boat when that time arrives.

Loadmaster is not the cheapest trailer around, but as indicated above, once you realize their quality you never have to say you're sorry you paid a little more.
