Default Hitch question

I have a Reese reciever type hitch. The slide in has a 2"offset. In a effort to raise the tongue of the trailer is it permissable to rotate the slide so that the 2" offset is at the top instead of the bottom.
Goofie question ain't it.

Go for it . It's probably a 2" drop and a 1" rise . I just did mine , had to raise 3".
