I've towed my boat over 50,000 miles.

For me, it's not the going, but rather the stopping.

A sane towing attitude:
*not going 70 mph uphill
*not jockeying in and out of traffic
*not following too close
will allow considerable latitude.

With that sane attitude, it's not so much about how much you can tow, but how long your tow vehicle will last.

This was way beyond towing capacity for my little '70 302 Bronco but we never had any trouble.

I tow a 21' Sailfish CC with a 2005 GX470 V8 which is rated for 6500 lbs. My truck is near it's limit w/boat, fuel, motor, gear etc.

You will be a victim of the "tail wagging the dog" with that set-up.

The wet weight of that boat with an F200 is 5600 lbs, add the trailer and you're well over 6500 lbs, which is way over the class 3 hitch rating not to mention your vehicles max tow rating. Add a bigger motor to the equation and you can add more weight.

We've got an RX330 in the stable, and I wouldn't tow much of anything with it. It doesn't have a frame, hence nothing solid to mount a hitch to, just sheetmetal. In reality, the RX's are the same as a Toyota Highlander, which is built on the Camry platform.

Welcome to THT!

Don't even think about towing a Hydra-Sports 2200 with a Lexus RX350!

If you can afford the Lexus and you can afford the Hydra-Sports, then you can afford to buy an appropriate used truck as a tow vehicle.

still plenty of cheap, newer, and reliable used tow vehicles for sale.
no need to "wreck" the lexus and possibly void warranty.

I restored a 1976 with the 302, great little truck.
