Default 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD?

When looking to purchase a used 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4 with Duramax and Allison, is there anything specific to this model year that I should look at or be concerned with?

There were a couple of service bulletins but nothing major. Just have a dealer make sure those are up to date. I love mine. www.dieselplace.com is a great resource.

You can also check out the duramaxforum.com. A ton of information specifically related to the Dmax.

I hope so as it will be shipped back to Australia after being used for a while here in the US. There is a company in Aus that specializes in converting US vehicles to RHD and getting then past federal inspection so they can be registered in any Aussie State. Allows me to tow 4.5 tonnes (9,900 lbs) when the next closest vehicle in Australia is only 3.5 tonnes.

I"m dodge but my fishing buddy ordered the edge juice with attitude for his 08 duramax. I have the dash hawk that will plug into any auto and allow you to see what it does in the 1/8 th and 1/4 using your speed o meter. I was totally impressed. 14.4 and the first setting if fuel millage. He called me yesterday and said he was now getting 21 mpg. Still love my cummins but I tip my hat to the newer Duramax.
That allison transmission is the best there is. Stick in my dodge but have drove one of the 10 car haulers like I have with the allison auto in it. Wish it was in this truck.
