Striper- Glad to hear you are enjoying your truck. I was curious when I first heard that Honda was making a truck and researched it a bit. The styling just never worked for me. Honda makes excellent, realiable, quality vehicles and I am not suprised to hear that you are satisfied with your vehicle. I do wonder why Honda never made a vehicle to compete with the Tundra and Titan...maybe they don't have to?

I have wondered the same thing because as I said previously, I believe they would have cornered a big market share. If you look at the sales stats of the Ridgeline they are very respectable. Now with that said, there are several Trucks that I would own in the full sixe range(Titan and New Ram 1500) however, my needs only required a Mid-Size Truck and the RL fit the billet. Some of the comparisons and tests put the Ridgeline up against full size Trucks and I do not know why, its a Mid size Truck and a Beast of a Mid Size Truck at that imho !!

I believe if more folks that slammed them had first hand driving and towing experience within its limits they would sing a different tune,,,

When you tow with a full size truck , it's GREAT . When you tow with a full size truck with a Diesel it's AWESOME.
I have had 5 Toyota's and 2 Nissan's 3 Fords and now a Dodge with a 5.9 CTD.

ALL of my little Jap Trucks were great , that's why I bought again BUT when I tow , I want to Tow and I tow coast to coast and places in between.

When it comes to towing most people don't have a clue about what their rig can or will do , how long it can do it and most importantly , how SAFE is it .

I and others get so tired of hearing crazy talk like this........

It SHOULD do it......
I THINK you will be OK........
It's just a SHORT run to the ramp......
My Jeep has a 6 cyl. can it pull the 36'r....
I run 80 , 85 mph ........
I think my boat only weighs......

And More, We think it's GREAT that we can come here and get Advice/help or questions answered.
BUT
This forum [ Trucks & Trailers ] is like walking on thin ice . Some of you guys throw out advise to these newbies and they take your word for it .
What are you going to do when one of these new members ends up in COURT on vehicular man slaughter charges AND YOU are being Summoned as a ACCESSORY to the crime BECAUSE YOU TOLD HIM he could pull his 27 Contender with his Honda Ridge Line.

Gentlemen and Ladies , This DOES happen and it happens because we have stupid people and Lawyers.

This is why some of you think I'm nuts about TOWING , I try to follow D.O.T. and State Laws, always recommend a proper tow Vehicle or even slightly over sized.

It's called C.Y.A. [ Cover Your Azz ]

Remember , once you put it on the Internet it's there FOR EVER.
It's like on my own forum , www.aluminumalloyboats.com ] as soon as one member was telling another member how to BUILD A GAS TANK , I went and started my LLC the next day and fellers here in Texas it aint cheap to do that.

"Well your honor , I was on a boating site and they told me how to build a gas tank , so I did . Then my brother borrowed my boat and I guess some gas leaked . I guess when he started the motor the gas fumes lit and BLEW them up . It really sucked to tell my Sister in Law that her Husband and son were not coming home ".

This would be a very bad deal in Court , don't ya think?

You tell someone to Tie a IMPROVED CLINCH knot on 80lb test Mono, they will loose a fish maybe, Right ?
You tell the same guy that the 2" ball he is using to pull his 12,000 LB rig is OK to use and he uses it , it breaks , PEOPLE DIE, He goes to court , the constable serves you with papers , you go to court, the lawyer gets his day with you and this is where the fun starts................

Mr Smith , are you a Metallurgist ? You, NO
Mr Smith , do you work for DOT ? You , NO
Mr Smith , Are you in Law enforcement ? You , NO
Mr smith , are you a Professional truck driver ? You , NO
Mr Smith , what makes you think you have the knowledge to tell someone what is Safe and what is not, Maybe it comes from your extensive towing experience , Mr smith , do you tow and if so tell me how much towing you do a year ?

UH, I , UH , tow my boat twice a year , once to put in and once to haul out.

Do ya all see where this is going, Doesn't look to good for Mr Smith does it ?
