V10 will cost less that a comparable diesel.

Both are fine for the job you're planning.

The diesel will get your 450 mile trip behind you without having to stop for fuel.

Resale on the diesel Ex will be significantly more than on a 10 year old gasser

Seems to be about a 2 MPG difference between the 4.10 and the 3.73(?) rear ends.

Yes but they are still not up to speed for the truck IMHO, but if you can get the heavy duty 2 1/2" reciever like I did for mine...you can throw 15,000 lbs. on it with W.D. according to Fords label on it!

An '87 (w/Whaler Drive and a half tower). It is about to be repowered w/twin 200hp Optis ('01s w/'04 powerheads). The boat is a tank, not fast but really stable. However, the old 15' is my favorite.
