Default New Rolls Axle Suspension. Good or bad?

Has anyone had much experience with the 'Rolls Axle' rubber and stainless steel suspension compared to other suspension types?
Any feedback would be great!!!

I have one. The "spring" does not seem to have as much travel as a regular torsion axle, but I see no bad effect because of this. It will never need service, and the trailer tows great.

There are other things that make the Rolls Axle trailer different. You can adjust bunk angle without cutting the bunks. Also everything on the trailer is adjustable, but there is not a single u-bolt on the trailer. The only galvanized parts on the trailer is the winch and the hubs, and the only stainless parts are the bolts, brakes, and parts of spring .... everything else is aluminum.

They build a nice trailer...the only problem is everything is proprietary, meaning if you have to replace something it will have to come from them. If I have a torsion axle problem, or a kodiak brake problem, etc...there are several different places I can get parts from.

Rolls uses Kodiak brakes on their trailers. Any stuff you see on their web site about Rolls using their own brakes is out of date. Yes the axle is propriety, but this is not that unusual. Last ez-loader aI had had axles made by ez-loader.

An axle replacement is not as likely to be a "run down to the store" item anyway. You are probably ordering it no matter what. If something happened to Rolls in the future, you could use any standard torsion axle on the trailer.

There really isn't anything that will "wear out" with respect to the suspension on a Rolls Axle trailer. I had a single axle Rolls and loved it (zero problems) and it towed great. With that said, I never felt like the suspension was very compliant... seemed like the tires had to absorb most of the bumps. I'd probably buy a Rolls again but would take a very hard look at AmeraTrail. Good luck.
