Does anyone know what the clips are called that come in trailer light kits? These are the clips that slide onto the trailer frame and you put your wire into the clip to hold it to the trailer frame. I can best describe them as a
"Z" clip.
I rewired my boat trailer but I didn't buy a kit. I need to buy the clips to hold the wire to the boat frame, I tried Home Depot, Lowes, Auto Zone, Ace Hardware, and Murrays. I can find plenty of the light kits that have the clips in them but I can't find the clips separately.
i used zipties for mine.
just drill a 1/4 inch hole every 3 or 4 feet and insert the skinny part of the ziptie , wrap it around the wire and run it back through the hole and into the locking part of the zip. use the black uv protected zips and it will last a long time.

X2. It works great and it lasts a long time. When I redid my trailer, I coiled up all the extra wiring and fastened it in the back using the zip ties.
Try an automotive parts store. You may find something in the miscellaneous clips drawers or on the cards. If in salt water they will last a few dunks and then be done.

You can get adhesive pads to hold the zip ties. No drilling and no rough edges.
Hint: Clean the surface with alcohol. Let it dry and install the pad, Hold it in position (press hard or clamp if convenient) for 60 seconds, then move on to the next. Wait until the next day to install the zip ties. This lets the adhesive set up really well.
I've used these on my boat where I didn't want to drill. Following the above proceedure, they have held up fine. None have come loose.
I tried two auto parts stores, no luck. I went to a local trailer place that installs hitches, etc. They don't sell them, they think they are junk too.
I have hundreds of zip tie bases and literally thousands of zip ties so I am going to go that way. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
I've always just cleaned the surface and put down a dab of clear silicone, lay wire in silicone and then put more on top just to cover. No holes to drill and secured tightly.
