I recently had my 16'' CC trailer stolen and am looking for a replacement.
It was a Loadmaster Aluminum trailer with some extras.
After reading some favorable reports here on THT about TNT Boat Trailers in Brandon, I called them. This was over a month ago.
I talked to the owner, Tim Nobles, and told him of my needs. His price and quality were competitive with Loadmaster plus he used a larger tire/wheel combo.
I placed the order and asked if needed a deposit. He declined and said the trailer would be complete in a week. He would then call me and arrange delivery/pick-up.
Two weeks go by and I did not hear from him. I left 2 messages in the meantime and those went un-returned. I left for vacation figuring I would deal with it when I got back. (boat is on a lift) Upon my return I contact him and I do reach him this time.
He takes my number and says he will call me back within the hour. No call back!
Usually at this point I would move on. I figure I have no money in the deal and still need the trailer so I will give it one more shot. I called him yesterday (08-04-09) and he did not have any recollection of our previous conversations?????
He did acknowledge that there was a 16' trailer at his shop and that he did not know what it was for but that this would explain it?? I told him if he still wants to do business I will pick it up this weekend. He said great and would call me back to get the information for the bill of sale.
You guessed it, NO CALL BACK!!
I am not writing this to flame the guy, it's obvious he is having issues. I have no money into the deal so all I am out is some time and some noggin scratching.
If you are looking to do business with this outfit, good luck, and let us know how you fare. It's too bad, because the company does build a decent trailer.
Update:
Just got off the phone with Tim and we agreed to complete the transaction. I will be picking the trailer up on Friday and will post the results.
He apologised and said personal issues have been keeping him from performing his job.
I'll see Friday and report back.

Here is the follow up to the seemingly endless saga of the TNT trailer deal. I called Tim on Friday as agreed and did not reach him. Left a message and unbelieveably DID NOT get a return call! That was the last straw. How many times does one have to beg someone to take money!!??
I have ordered a new trailer from Bruce at All American Trailer in Ft. Lauderdale. They are delivering it to a marina about 40 minutes from me for pick up tomorrow.
I had owned one of thier trailers in the past and was very satisfied with it. Just thought I would go with a local builder this time, oh well.
I will post the ending (hopefully) to this saga after I pick up the new trailer.

I bought a trailer from TNT about 3 years ago and picked it up at his shop without a hitch. 4 months ago I called Tim and (as a repeat customer) expected the same quality service as before. Tim's price was a bit higher, but he includes everything and there are no real options...so we made a deal and I asked that his secretary send me an order verification via e-mail.
5 e-mails and probably the same number of phone messages went un-answered, so I ordered from ACE TRAILER (excellent, BTW) and thought this saga was over.
3 weeks later, Tim called to tell me that the trailer would be delivered to me tomorrow...so his personal issues have been going on for way too long if he's still doing off-the-wall things to his potential customers.

I just bought a TNT for my sea ray sport... Tim and Frank were easy to deal with. I love this trailer. Compared to the crappy galvanized factory trailers that come with smaller boats, this one is definitely quality.
Agreed - I bought a trailer from Tim two and a half years agao. My experience with Tim was great. He builds a great product and has always been helpful with any of my questions/concerns since my purchase. I'll definitely by another trailer from him in the future. Keep in mind he runs a small independent operation and does not have a "customer service department".
No issues with Tim and my TNT trailer. It is a solid built and over built trailer . I did change the safery chain location from the welded link down low, to off the winch, but that is splitting hairs.

Isnt the idea of the chains down low and crossing them when you attach them to the tow vehicle to try and prevent the trailer from dropping down to far if it comes unhooked and digging in to the pavement like a pole vault? You have pretty much just negated having safety chains on your trailer.
The bow eye safety chain is for the strap and winch post bolts breaking. Best to put it back on the welded ring. I had a winch post break hitting a RR track at 60 MPH, lucky I heard it and slowed down easy.
Call Owens & Sons in St Pete. They build the Slide On trailers. They are some of the best built trailer around and they are a small, family owned business.
I understand this is an old post but I thought it was worth posting. I own a TNT triple axle and would NOT suggest anyone buy one. Two of my 3 sets of brakes were NEVER connected and the bunks were placed with brackets directly on the axles causing undo wear on tires and torsion axles. A friend with another TNT triple axle has gone through 3 sets of tires and is on the second set of axles as a result. Both trailers were corrected by Owens. In the short run we saved money but we paid for it in the end. Hope this post saves someone else the headaches I've had. Thanks
Also had poor luck with TNT trailers and Tim Nobles. The trailer had brake issues and capacity issues, flexed alot, seemed underbuilt. Bought a trailer from Loadmaster in Brandon, it is much better. But, Owens and Sons are also good. Carl
