Default Guide Post question

As always your responses are much appreciated. One of my guide posts rusted and I had to pull it off on side of road (was taking two lanes going down the road with it as it fell over) one of my neighbors made me a new set out of stainless steel. The old ones were square and the new ones are circular. I know I need to change out the U bolts, with round ones rather than the old aquare ones. DO I need to also drill and put a bolt through the entire set up to keep them from rolling over? Or do I need to leave it with just a U bolt?

I used to have a round set that would "roll over" if I hit them with the boat while loading. They had just the u-bolts. I would just pull them back in position. But now that you mention it, perhaps a through bolt would have stopped the whole issue. Just make sure the boat won't destroy them if you hit them a little hard while loading.

Probably a good idea!
