Default Disc Break Pads sticking. Why?

ive read this thread looking for the reason, and i think ive come to some conclusions, one thing i have left to answer is this.....

some people are saying applying antiseize compound to the bushings and rubber boot ??? am i missing something? what are they refering to? if there are any diagrams of this it would help a lot !!! or if someone can explain this to me i would appreciate it. ive taken the calipers off, and the piston goes in easily (hydraulic fluid drained out now, will rebleed once pads are replace) so the piston isn't sticking, or i'm guessing its gotta be something else.....

thanks.

Since the piston moves easily in the caliper, it might be the caliper mounting... On my F150 I had these "pins" that were made of sheet steel folded around a piece of rubber that held the caliper in place. On my F250, there are bolts through bushings. If these corrode and freeze in place you will have uneven pad wear...hope this helps.

after every use i spray mine down with t-9 or corrosion x, then drive a mile or so so it can spread around the disc and pad. haven't had any sticking issues yet.

mjkten, what is the purpose of the stainless steel sleeves that are surronded by the plastic bushing ??? one thread says to place caliper grease on them, but what is the purpose of the sleeves?

they are talking about synthedic brake grease, you apply to metal on metal moving parts of the assembly, padscaliper mounting and slides. cuts down the noise from the pads moving back and forth against the rotor when not presurred. autozone has it on the counter.

On Kodiak disc brakes the calipers slide on these SS sleeves when you apply and release the brakes. There are no springs so there will be a small amount of friction even when the brakes are not in use. If all calipers are sticking there may be an issue with the master cylinder. Some surge brake actuators need to be stored in the uncompressed position because storing them compressed exposes parts of the master cylinder to corrosion which may not let the plunger fully retract resulting in constant pressure on the system.
