Great info. I was going to ask some of the same questions as I am considering what will be involved in trailering a 23' reg. How much will total weight of that set up be. How different would that be to trailering a 21' reg or a 22 Grady fisherman. These are some boats I am considering buying. I will be trailering between 50 and 150 miles each trip in Michigan to the great lakes. Would appreciate answer on this thread to pm. Hope no one minds me honing in on this thread with my questions. thanks

I used my BoatUS road towing last year , lost my tranny . That tow alone paid for about 10 years of BoatUS services . As long as I own a Boat i'll be with them . All I had to do was sign my name .

If you need to stop look for a Cracker Barrel Restaurant they have FREE RV parking in back and open early for Breakfast.

The most important thing is to , TAKE YOUR TIME.

I have a 12 ton piston jack. I did a test run in the street with blocks of wood. All worked great. Thanks

I'm not sure of the weight, but I think with the motors, gas and all the extras I'm about 7,000.

I did every single thing suggested by all the members so I'm hoping for the best. I'm leaving in the morning so I let you know when I get back.

Thanks, Andrew

I went from Florida to NJ with my boat, all is good, only be careful with truck drivers, they were very aggressive.

Don't forget to give your tow vehical some attention too. I'm in the process of trailering a 23 Everglades from FL to RI this Friday.

When heading south to warmer climates, make sure you check you anti freeze/coolant levels and transmission fluids. Change your oil. I always run synethic.

I looked at my coolant today, and it was low. Normally in the colder weather, you neglect to check it often enough. Check tow frame/lights connections. Hah! paper towels and Windex to clean windshield of bugs!

Have a safe trip too!

Well I made in back to NJ. Very depressing. The trip was better than I had hoped for.
Coming home I had a bad blowout on the trailer but I was back on the rode in less than 30 minutes because I was prepared. I used the 12 ton jack, wood, rags, gloves and blanket and was happy I had everything. I was also happy I had the second spare tire just in case.
The tire just exploded into a hundred pieces, I’ve never seen anything like it.
I still have to download the pics but the trip was great.
You guys in FL have it made.
My son caught his first Sail, Amberjack, Spinner shark just to name a few.

Thanks for everyone’s help!
Andrew
