my brother had them on his 02 (different size of course) F250 and only got about 30k out of them. I know a bunch of folks that get great life out of them on 1/2 tons however. They got great traction, just didn't last.

You should not have a problem with the exception of the change in height and final drive ratio with a taller tire. Set up properly you should not be putting so much load on your tires to the point of tire failer.. I have had a few sets of BFG AT tires i can tell you they seem to wear a bit on the quick side (Softer compound) other then that no problems.

265/70/18s are 32.8" tall, not sure what the next size up would be, whatever you get make sure it is load range E, look at Toyo the Open Country is a decent tire and comes in the E range with a very high weight capacity.

I own a 96 ram 2500 that I originally put bfgs on and found them to be very dissatisfying. When I would try to pull boats up a steep ramp I would get a lot of tire slip. Also when I would go of road the tires were not self cleaning so I would easily spin my tires. So after I wore those out I bought a set of Cooper discovery all-terrains, and love them. The tread pattern is spread more apart so they are self cleaning. When I tow boats up ramps I don't have any more tire slip either. My tire size is 33x12.5x16

I had the same truck with the same tires and they seemed to wear out too fast, they're also too tready for normal highway driving.
Now at my 'older' age I'm more into quiet and comfort and buy only Michelins

The one thing that I did not like about the BFG All Terrains was the fact that they pulled hard right in standing water on the road. Not a vehicular problem as new tires were bought shortly thereafter. Bought another vehicle, same tires as previous and had same problem.

Check tirerack.com for reviews on tires. They seem to carry them all and the reviews are from folks who actually are using the tires.

I bought a set of Wrangler Silent Armor for an Expedition I had (265/70/17) The tires were great, good traction and wear, but I think they had a lot of rolling resistance. I had about 20K on them when I sold it and the tires still looked great.

My neighbor just got 55k out of a set on a F250-but he was a fanatic about rotating them. Also suprising was that he towed quite a bit but still got that much out of them.
I just bought a set of 295/75/16's for my 2500 Suburban and am quite happy, couldn't find a Michelin that big.....

I've got 36,000 miles on my BFG AT 285/70/17's.

3/4 ton Dodge

I rotate about every oil change(7500) and keep them inflated to about 65psi.

They probably have 50% tread left. At this point I see no reason not to by another set when the time comes.

I have a set on my Ford Excursion. The treads have actually done quite well w/ 50k miles on them. The bad has been that the side-walls started peeling off at @ 25k miles. At first people thought I was driving around w/ dry-rot tires. Pretty sure it is cosmetic (& ugly at that). I thought at first maybe my wife was having regular disagreements w/ curbs, but it happened on all 4 w/ no signs of curb rash. It's a wierd thing, but definitely turned me off the tires. I'm now looking at replacements.

Good tires, I typically get 60K out of a set, I run a 1 ton dually, rotate every 10K, make sure you get E rated tires for the truck, makes a big difference. Dodges with the D rated tires are prone to "death wobble" after hitting bumps at certain speeds, more common with the larger BFGs that are D rated.

Have had a few trucks with those tires, and zero problems. Currently have an 05' 4x4 Excursion clearing 295/75/16's fine on the stock rim. Same basic wheel as the KR.

I have the Goodrich TA/KO's on my F350 and I think I'm going to switch to the Bridgestone Dueler A/T D695's next. The wear on the the Goodrich just isn't that great, and I think it's more "all terrain" than I need. A buddy of mine told me about these Bridgestones, said a lot of people are switching from the Goodrich A/T's to the Dueler A/T's with positive results. Just food for thought.

I have BF Goodwrich AT's on my truck below. Its only a midsize truck but they have been great so far. I have over 50k miles on the tires but I'm due for a new set. I think I'd by the same thing again or might go to the BF Goodwrich MT's and step up a size.

I like the BFG All Terrains, but the price is just to high, I have switched over to Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrains, Price is much better and the tire is just a good if not slightly better.

I had BFG's on my 2002 Dodge 1500 tires wore fine. I have Nitto's on my 2007 Dodge 2500 and now on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, I will not pay the price for the BFG;s again.
