In order for trailer brakes to work does one need additional wiring run down to the back of the vechicle to the tow hitch or is it all self contained in the trailer and work on any truck?
With surge drum brakes you should not need any type of electric wiring going to the trailer other then the lights. The system can be used with any truck capable of towing the trailer. If you had a disc brake system you would need to have a wire from the reverse lights to the backup solenoid.
