From Upstate SC to Cape San Blas FL twice, to Sunset Beach NC more times than I can count and countless times to lakes Murray, Hartwell, Clarks Hill in SC and Cherokee in TN
Here's my hauler, an old pic, had some upgrades since. Slow so I can enjoy the scenery. New here. Thinking about an older boat for Texas lakes, maybe an old fiberglass ski boat or something large and slow that's reliable but needs cosmetic/furniture/electical work. Maybe I can learn something and avoid pitfalls if I hang around and read a while.
Original tow rig... 1999 Toyota Tacoma TRD Supercharged. I put 136,000 trouble free miles on her. Only gas, oil, brakes, tires...and 1 driver's side power window motor. I pulled a 1989 Boston Whaler 17 Montauk with it. No pics of the Whaler though.
Next was a 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7 I towed my 23 Contender with it until I sold it. I loved the 5.7.. what a snarl she had!
Then I picked up the Donzi and towed it twice with the Tundra.
I then weighed the Donzi at a scale and realized I was 600 lbs over my towing limits so I picked up my current tow rig. 2008 Ford F250 diesel.
I just towed the Donzi to FL for the winter and was AMAZED with this truck. I will be keeping this truck for a long time!!
