my dad lets me use his 2500 Ram diesel truck to tow my 28' boat.
although we are happy with the trucks performance, i gotta wonder if more can be had.
i've heard lots about adding chips to get more HP and torque and may even increase a truck's efficiency (chips like Banks units).
the chips definitely do work, but i don't like the idea of over fueling an engine and having to keep an eye on the pyrometer to be sure not to melt the engine.
i found
www.drperformance.com website which advertises similar gains and efficiency with their chips that doesn't over fuel the engine to achieve results.
i'm not a diesel tech nor mechanic, but on their website they explain how they achieve the results and it sound feasible.
anyone tried and can a test to the results and that it doesn't in anyway prematurely wear the engine?
if it works as advertised and is that "simple", why doesn't the big 3 from factory make their trucks with similar technology since they perennially seem to be doing the HP race?
(yeah, i'm a bit chicken and need to know someone else did it with good results before i invest myself

)
