Default Trailer Weight?

Anyone want to take a guess at what an aluminum tandem bunk trailer weighs?

It's about 35' overall length.

What capacity? Mine (5k capacity) weighs about 1K.

Mine is a 10.5k.

If it is over 2k then it needs a title which I didn't get from the seller. I have to get it weighed.

I doubt your trailer is over 2 k empty. Probably not 1k

It will be near 2K, possibly over. I looked in the ez loader catalog I have, and 9K is 1800-ish, 12K are 2000-ish.

You'll have to weigh it I guess.

Look on the label for the GVWR. Then look for the capacity. Subtract the capacity from the GVWR and you have the weight of the trailer.

Example:

GVWR = 6,000 lb
Capacity = 5,000 lb

Trailer weight is 1,000 lb

The label is usually on the inside of the frame near the tongue.

My 8,500 lbs. GVWR aluminum, tandem axle, bunk trailer weighs 1870 lbs. I just happened to look at the weight ticket today when cleaning my truck.

I'll weigh it next week to make sure. This could be interesting.

Rolls, triple axle, 18,000# GVWR, for a 34' aluminum pilothouse with twin DF-300s = 2953#. Trailer has lots of options which adds to the weight and are not included in the weight on the data plate. If you really want to know what your trailer weighs you will need to weigh it - don't trust the data plate.

How do they know what trailer you weighed?
I've weighed loaded and unloaded trailers in the past, and there's never been anyone to look at a VIN #.

Well, there's no way that a 10,500 pound capacity trailer that is around 35' long weighs under 2000 pounds!
