Pete, I'm still out here!! Where's everybody at? I can't hold our spot forever.

But seriously folks...I did go out fishing at 8am up around the BI, OCC/DCC and The Dike. About 10 short fluke and one 19" keeper. Headed back around 11:30 and got killed with a heavy storm on the way in...had to slow to just above idle and couldn't see shit. Heavy rain but, thankfully, no lightning.

Good call on the rain date 'cause, according to current radar, there's is a lot more comin'.

Yup. It's still raining. My understanding is that they didn't postpone the Sea Hunt Aquapaloza - that must have been a mess.

As long as the weather is nice next weekend, I'm happy.

I was packing up to shoot over when it started teaming. It saved me a fight with the wife. I thought of Old Pete being out there with the 2 yo and the pregnant wife on a center console and just cringed, I know my wife would not be any where near understanding. I would have gotten served with divorce papers.

I cant make it next week but if its a nice turnout, can we entertain the possibility of another meet-up in early August?

My wife kept asking where are all these people from that THT thingy. Actually she used the word wimps..

Well let me tell you, it was actually a GREAT day out at Tices. Yes it rained, but it never poured, more of a gentle rain/drizzle. No lightning or thunder. The worst of it only lasted about 10 minutes. People never even got out of the water.

It was calm and empty. It was actually a nice break from the oppressive heat we've been having. We had about 5 boats from my marina out there. We we all swimming around visiting, drinking, eating.

After the storm rolled out it got even better. The bay was like a lake with a gentle breeze. We took inventory and decided to stay the night.

Nothing like waking up and looking out the porthole to see the sun starting to rise over IBSP. I would have missed it if it wasn't for the 2 jetskis
blowing past between me and the shore.

Made a pot of coffee and hung out till the crowd started rolling in.

I know what you mean -- the problem was that you're coming from across the bay @ Forked River. There are people that are coming from the other side of the bridge in LBI -- it wouldn't have been a great idea for them to run up for it... especially a bunch had young kids, etc.

Hopefully we'll see you there Sat.

Rain was sort of a blessing... we blew the port engine on the ol Regulator 4th of July weekend. She ran like a dream the weekend before the 4th... all the way to the wilmington and back. Took the kids for a tube ride on the 4th and blammo. Unfortunately, we will miss the rain date also.

Not sure if I can make it this weekend - The wife is in Pa. with the kids and not expected to return until Sat. - if I have some time, I might take a quick ride out to say hello.

I should be out there sometime tomorrow.

By the way, when I was there last week I put in the coordinates you listed and they put by about 2.5nm away in Forked River.

I just did on online conversion of you original Decimal Coordinates:
N 39.83376
W 074.09250
-
N39 50.026
W 074 09250

and got these # which mapped to somewhere closer to IBSP>

N39.50.026
W74.05.550

Hi Jack -- Yup... we'll be there... it's gonna be a hot one.

If I screwed up the coords... I'm sorry. Just look for the fisherman's walkway (it's a wooden dock with about 100 boats all around it.) I'll be the blue hulled Sea Hunt with a 8+ month pregger girl and a 2 year old boy... say Hello!

Pete

P.S. I fished from 7:30-12:00 today, and now it's rough as hell -- My boat isn't very clean... so you win.

Not a huge turn-out, but still lots of fun to meet those that were there!
Thanks to Steve and Mark, now I can say I did the "tie-up"!
Nick, with the nicest looking hull I've ever seen!

Pete, I was there around 12:20 and cruised up and down until about 12:45. Didn't see your boat. Called you on 09 and 68..no response. Stoxbonds was out at the tires and heard me hail you and called me up. Said he tried to call you earlier and also got no response. Sorry I missed you.

Jack, we were there, had the red throwable on the tip of the boat pole, all the way up on the T-Top. Was there until around 3:00 and then when we were leave spotted reelnauti (who by then had been found by hlights2... who had stopped by earlier. We rafted up and had a great swim and BS session. Before that I met up with nickmo and his wife -- great folks - everyone was really cool.

I called Dave (stoxbonds) back I had been out earlier yesterday and didn't go outside today.

We scored great on Friday AM - a total of 12... was back at the dock before noon.

I tried to keep the radio on, but between the baby crying, all the swimming and the people around... it was tough. I figured nobody could miss the red throwable up there!

Any time you want to get together, just let me know!

Pete

Pete,
We had a great time meeting you and your family. I hadn't been at Tice's for quite a while and had a blast. Thanks for all your work putting it together. Love your boat, especially those fuel burn numbers.

Thanks, Nick! (and to your wife!) We went in the ocean that day -- after you got past the breakers it was nice!
