I was wanting to change my Thread Title in Boats for Sale. I went to Edit then Advanced, but I can't seem to change title. What am I doing wrong?

You did it correctly... on my own threads I can change the title by editing the original post and "go advanced" the title bar is open for editing. This may sound like a stupid question.... but are you sure you went to edit the ORIGINAL post on the thread... the one that holds the title information?

Same thing, I go to original post, click edit then advanced and it will only change title at the top of the page and not the post title.

On the first post the TITLE is the title of both the thread and the first post. If you change that title it should change the Thread title. If you are editing it and not seeing the change it COULD be a "refresh" issue. Not sure what browser you use but after you edit and save it.... try hitting the page REFRESH and see if that helps.

ETA: This is what I see your thread title as: REDUCED-07 Sailfish 2660 CC NOW $61,900.00 What is it suppose to say?

Looks like I was wrong... the thread title still says: 07 Sailfish 2660 CC Reduced

The first post title says: REDUCED-07 Sailfish 2660 CC NOW $61,900.00

Hmmmm .... I just edited one of my thread titles today and it updated both Thread and First Post title immediately. Now I'm wondering if there is a time limit on how long a thread title can be changed. My thread title that I changed is a newer thread.

Looks like you will need a mod to answer this one.... sorry I wasn't more help

It is currently set to 3 days for the timeframe you can edit a title. I have pinged the mods to get their opinion on this.

Classifieds titles are supposed to have unlimited editing. How else could you add "Sold" to the title? Stormybot: We need unlimited editing in the classified, both in text and titles.

Are you hitting the "SAVE" button AFTER you make the changes?

Regards,

I am having the same issue with my classified ad thread title. I go to the original post, go to advance edit, do the editing, click save, and it then shows the new wording while I have that thread open, but when you go back to the list of forum threads it still shows the old title.

Does anybody know how to make it change as it should?

I`m having the same problem. I`m trying to sell my boat but the title change is making it difficult. Are there any mods out there reading this? How can we change the original thread title?

1) Click "EDIT" on the original post in the thread.(must be the FIRST post in the thread)

2) Click "GO ADVANCED"

3) When the editing dialog box comes up, the title bar should contain the thread title. It can be edited from here.

4) Click "SAVE"

If you do this and are still having a problem, PM me the link to your thread and what changes you would like made and I will see if I can make them from my end.

Update: I PM'd the tech department about people having this issue, and they tell me that there is a time limit on how long you can edit the title....they just don't know what the time limit is, exactly. The best thing I can say from that is that if you are unable to change it, that's probably why, and if you run into that situation, just PM any of us with your link and what you want changed and we can help.
