Default Auto tab control

TM, I finally installed and tried out my boat with the m120 and Auto tab controll on 1-2 Jan. The water wasn't to smooth so I couldn't seem to get the auto tab zero'd out. Every time I went to run on auto tab it seemed to want pull the tabs up constantly even when they were retracted all the way. So I shut auto off and ran manual. It made my boat ride better than it ever has. Are there any hints or quirks in getting the auto tab zero'd??

RDawg,

Yes, try setting teh ATC zero point on a calmer day, also make sure that you set the zero point running at cruising speed. The ATC will often retract the Trim Tabs when the boat is lightly loaded and going fast. Once the zero point is set, turn the ATC on and try moving weight around the boat and slowing down to see how it reacts.

I am wondering if I really need the auto retractor feature for the M120's on my boat; I trail about 5-10 x per year. I have a roller trailer and the boat fits nicely (no roller protruding from underneath stern when bow is snug). Since I power up on the trailer, do I really need the autoretractor??

Old hat,

Nope you really don't need them. Since the actuators will not be harmed if you leave them down when the boat is in the water, and your bunks do not extend past the transom then you really don't need them.
