Default M-120 question

I thought I would ask since I have this opportunity.
I am thinking about putting the M-120 kit on my Kenner 21V-200. What I would like to improve is cruising speed ride say around 30-40 mph. It seems if I trim my motor to where I think it is best, if I get into light chop it will start to porpose and of course I have to back off the engine trim.
So the question I would like to ask is will trim tabs help with the porposing and is the M-120 the right choice for my Kenner?
Thanks Randy

Default M-120 question

Randy,

Trim Tabs do an excellent job of eliminating porposing. By providing additional lift aft when the boats bow starts to raise the can effectively break the cycle that results in porposing. The key to using Tabs to knock out porposing is to deflect them in very short bursts until the boat settles down; the tabs will essentially be just kissing the water. This will let you keep the prop trimmed where you want it. The other element is to have the properly sized Tabs for the job as a too small Tab will require too much deflection to stop the porposing with out contributing too much drag. That leads to your next question. Yes the M120 would be a very effective Tab for your Kenner.

You will also very much like the way you will be able to plane with the bow down at lower speeds, as it makes the ride much better in a chop. Of course you will also be able to correct of side to side weight distributions, and the Tabs will improve you hole shot.

I hope this answers your questions, let me know if you require any addition information.
