Default How to use trim tabs and engine tab?

I an new to the I/O world and want to get opinions on how to get boat on plane from the dock.

Do you have trim tabs all the way down (bow up)? Do you start with engine tab all the way down? Where do you start these when beginning to accelerate?

1. Trim Tabs
2. Engine Tab
3. Throttle (1/4, 1/2, 3/4?)

Yes you will want them down to get on plane the fastest then bring them up to achieve the best running attitude of your boat. All boats run differently so the best bet is to experiment a bit to get a good feel for them and the effect they have.

Trim tabs all the way down is bow down, not bow up!

Traditionally, you will want tabs (bow) down and engine trimmed all the when down on launch.
Juice the throttle, then raise engine and trim tabs.

Most time my tabs are up and I will just tuck my engine in upon takeoff ( I have an Outboard) and when the boat levels off, I will trim my motor up for best speed/economy then use my tabs to adjust the quality of ride.

I will usually hammer the throttle to get on plane, then back off to my optimum cruise rpm.
