Default 1st. Gulf fishing experience

Well guys, & Gals,
I had my first Gulf fishing experience yesterday. I was privileged enough to be invited out fishing with Capt. JohnE. out of Tarpon Springs and fished off his Glacier Bay 2660 Center Console. I was amazed at the fuel burn and speed he got. Most of the day we were running at 4300 rpm. with a fuel burn of 2 mpg. at 34 mph off his twin Yamaha 150 HPDI's, in 1 to 3' seas, very respectable.

Gulf fishing is a bit different than fishing the Atlantic off the coast of Delaware but it didn't take long to get the hang of it. We didn't get any keeper Grouper but we caught 8 or 9 shorts and one keeper Mango Snapper.

The sun was warm, the company good, we caught fish and I learned something new.

Capt. John, Thanks for the trip.

And if you ever get the chance - head on around to the Texas side....

Believe it or not - we have fish HERE, too.
