Started installing antennas for electronics and radar yesterday but it is too cold and rainy today. Thanks to the guys who made suggestions on how to do this. It really helped!
So here I am before my computer and getting ready to address my next major task to getting my new boat ready for offshore fishing, primarily for tuna.
I want to install outriggers and a centre rigger to my boat. My new boat is a 34 foot pilot house twin diesels. The cabin is 5 1/5 feet wide and the beam is 10 ft. This boat is trailerable so the outriggers have to be able to be lowered so that I can pass under bridges (tri-axle trailer with fifth wheel and using a Ford 350 diesel so no trailer issues . . . yes I am getting the travel permits for wide loads)
Also, like a centre console, I want to be able to walk around my boat without any obsructions so no gunnel mounted outriggers are being considered.
The cabin is welded aluminum and is plenty strong to attach any outrigger system.
What type of outriggers and what type of centre rigger should I get?
What type of terminal tackle should I get with the outriggers?
Any special concerns or problems that I should be aware of?
This is a long-term investment so I am looking for good quality equipment. . . but not 24c gold-plated
MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE
