at least you have a season...

we are facing a full bottom fishing ban on the east coast beginning later this year in all waters 98 feet and deeper, not just a snapper ban

starts in mid florida and goes almost to NC

Guys, it aint over till its over. The scallop guys up north had their quota increased. This was after it was voted on by the council to keep it at 40 million pounds. It was brought back to the table due to some political influence. They gained 7 million pounds. I feel that NOAA is back peddling after the trouble they seem to be in. Lets not give up now, things are going in our favor. Check out "ahabs journal", just google it. Not sure what the URL is. Some good reading.

Haha I think we would all like to. It's going to be hard to keep us from fishing, I am not sure how they think they can just do this and get away with it.

its not up on their website, but thats really not a big surprise. The meetings did end yesterday so someone has to know. Sure would be nice if Gov Barbour, Gov. Jindal, and Texas, AL, FL gov's would seem to be a little more interested in this.

They look kinda like snapper, but since there's no more snapper....they must be orange roughy

You guys need to get a grip and understand a few things.

1.) The progressives and NWO scumbags in the govenrment don't want you to fish.
2.) The democrat communists in DC don't want you to fish.
3.) The progressive republicans in DC don't want you to fish.
4.) The Obama administration could care less about the boating industry as a whole.
5.) The NWO and Progressive movement want us to buy seafood from other countries = international redistribution of wealth.

6.) This has nothing to do with over fishing, or extinction, or environmental doo doo...it has to do with control over you , and our tax dollars, and foreign redistribution of wealth....

Once you know what you are up against, and you quit dismissing it as as "conspiracy theory" , then you can understand how THEY think......YOUR way of life in this country is near extinction......

end of discussion....

This is spot on----very few people understand this/accept this as the fact it is. The ultimate goal is no fishing and no boating. Except for the politicians of course...

Here's part of an email I got for what it's worth re-the GOM...

Here is a report from the gulf council meeting this past week.
As everyone expected they approved and sent to the soc their recommendation
to increase the red snapper TAC to 6.9+ million pounds. Dr. Crabtree stated
that the approval process may take until sometime in May before the TAC will
become effective. Asked about how many days the 2010 season will be, he
said that the final #s of the rec catch will not be available until sometime
in Mar or early April. Since the nmfs approval process may take so long to
do, it may be sometime in May or even after the season opens on June 1
before we know how long our season will be this year. Current projections
indicate a 51 to 60 day season but that could be increased or decreased
depending on revised average size calculations and revised catch numbers.

YEP.....Fillet and Release!!! If you think Im buying 3.00 a gallon gas and spending countless other dollars to be micro-managed by the "head shoved up their ass" feds who sit behind a desk and use flawed numbers to impose these restrictions then youve got rocks in your head!! I'm keepin what the hell I wanna keep these days and I'll just take the chance. Hell if they are good enough to find my stashing place then so be it, I'll pay a ticket, but all the times Ive ever been boarded, all they do is check documents, license and safety equipment and MAYBE glance in the fish box....
