Default BREAKING NEWS !!! PEW is pushing to CLOSE BOTTOM FISHING

OK...for those of you who havent been following this, heres the break down. The SEDAR report which is completely flawed and inaccurate (based on independent scientist findings and the current state of the red snapper stock as visualized by fisherman in the east atlantic ocean). Now, the Magnusen Stevens act has pushed to stop overfishing of red snapper. According to the SEDAR report snapper is overfished. Who do you think is responsibel for the SEDAR report?? that right PEW !!! you don't believe me...read this email...it was initaited form Dr. Devincentis, who is an avid fisherman and on our side, sent to felicia coleman who is a PEW fellow out of FSU:

HERE IS FELICIA COLEMANS RESPONSE:

Dear Dr. DeVincentis-

Thanks so much for your interest in our work on reef fish. Often the research that comes out of our lab is used in the SEDAR reports, as is the work of many other scientists. I'm going to forward your email to Chris Koenig and perhaps he can direct you in some ways that you might be able to help.

Sincerely yours,

Felicia Coleman

here is dr. devincentis initiating email

Dr. Coleman-
I am so interested in your work. I am ascuba diver in Florida and want to contribute to saving our oceans. I know a lot has been going on about Snapper and Grouper Fishing here. Have you done any work for the SAFMC or the SEDAR reports? I want to be able to help. What can I do.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert DeVincentis

Now, who is this Felicia Coleman lady:

So...a PEW funded fellow, states in a Flawed SEDAR report that the red snapper is overfished.....so SAFMC runs with it and tries to SHUT DOWN ALL BOTTOM FISHING TO SAVE RED SNAPPER !!! does that make any sense to anyone !!!!

this is all an attempt by PEW to shut down the oceans to save the sea kittens based on flawed data !!

we need everyone involved here !! this is a right wing left wing agenda !! this is a PEW agenda and we need everyone on board !!! you ask what you can do?? go here first !!!

now lets stop this BS PEW agenda !!!

You already know I am on your side but I think you may have mis-interpreted some info. Dr. Devencentis is a local chiropractor and has nothing to do with PEW that I am aware of. I am pretty sure he is on your side as well.

Again, I am with you but I think you have some info wrong here.

Your info on PEW itself is right on. Clearly a anti-fishing agenda and because of their bias, they should not be a part of this issue at all.

I understand but all he said was he wants to "contribute to saving the oceans". He is a spearfisherman and it makes no sense that he wants to ban snapper. He did not say he supports a snapper ban.

This should clear it up: http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2..._fishermen_say

Trust me, he is on our side.

yes he is on our side..that was his email to the PEW lady at FSU felicia coleman....he is on our side. She isn't. She is pushing for this closure based on her contribution from PEW to influence the SEDAR report and skew the data to fit their agenda.

Amen!

America will never thrive under a system that rewards failure and penalizes success. That is ObaMarxism in a nutshell. Marxists hate America because certain segments of society have trouble achieving the American dream through nobody's fault but their own. Marxists have to look out for those who can't (usually won't) help themselves............whether they are people or not.....ergo the "Sea Kitten" mentality......just like the 9-11 terrorists who want to kill us, FISH ARE PEOPLE TOO and deserve protection under the U.S. Constitution, with the full rights afforded to every citizen, even the 9-11 mastermind who now gets full rights, and ' a trial by a jury of his peers' thanks to HOPE AND CHANGE

I've got news for everyone, the SEA KITTEN protectors are in the WH

You Nay Sayers have no idea what you're up against, ...I support PelagicHunter 100%, because he is right about what is happening. LOOK...this goes beyond the democrat/republican battle, this is about progressives, communism, and the new world order. The NWO used to be one of those hush hush, conspiracy theories, ....not anymore. It is coming to light, and it includes both Bush's, the Clintons' and certainly Bam Bam.....you guys that don't think this is real need to wake up.....just check out L.O.S.T. Law of the Seas treaty....it gives the UN complete control over our federal AND STATE waterways, lakes, rivers, streams, gulf and oceans......It was started by Clinton, proceeded by Bush W, and signed into affect by Bam Bam......do your homework....your God Given rights are being destroyed, we had better wake up and vote these socialist idiots who are progressives out of office, it's one thing to be a democrat and a little liberal, or a progressive republican, but these people in office are going against what America stands for, and many are republicans too......like McCain.....each battle must be fought and won, like this one, but the war has to be won, or fishing is done........Shimano has taken up the fight, that's how serious this is....

If you don't believe me check out the shimano website....this is not BS:

These posts are important for many reasons, one reason is: If fishing is closed, most boating manufacturers will go out of business....and that means, there will be no need for the hulltruth.....this is pretty dam important information if you ask me......

I gotta take a contrarian view. Boating is boating. Fishing is fishing. Why shouldn't a fishing topic be in the fishing forum?

The man merely asked a question.

Is it OK for me to post my for sale stuff here so that I get better exposure? Maybe better prices for my junk. By some logic I guess that it is acceptable.

Maybe we should have just one forum and pile all subjects in it????

There are some boaters that don't give a god damn about snapper and if they are off limits, or completely gone. Fisherpeople probably care more than boaters. The fisherfolks may be hanging out in the fish forum. I guess.

Have we as a group lost our civility?

This post is about exposure and this particular section has the most exposure. This goes way beyond fishing and into an individual rights, government control, etc. So no, not every fishing post belongs here but this one does.

It's a trickle-down effect.
If fishing goes away, boat sales will drop.
Boat manufacturers will be forced to lay off workers.
Suppliers of plotters, engines, anchors, PFDs, etc will have to lay off workers.
Marinas will close down and townhouses will be built on the land.
Prices for boating goods will skyrocket.
All these people will be without a job.
So will that count against "jobs saved"?
In effect, it really does affect all of us.
