I fish quite a few Abu spinning reels and absolutely love them, but I cannot compare them with the Saros as I have never fished one.
I fish with the 800 series ( 801,802 and 806 ) which was the predecessor to the Soron and all I can say is that it is an incredible reel with a buttery smooth drag. It even has a dual bearing supported spool to further assist in the performance of the drag. I have one spool filled with Spectra on my 806 and it has not given me any issue whatsover, I just put a little tape on the arbor before spooling. My best ratio fish so far on the spinners is on the 802, 6 pound test and a 30 pound ray and the drag performed flawlessly.
I know there are some differences from the 800 series and the Soron line, I just wanted to share my experience with the spinners with you. A good friend bought the Soron but I have only fished with it briefly a few times and did not really notice a difference between the ones I fish with. Offhand the only thing I noticed different were the "superline" spool that comes with the Soron and the new X-craftic alloy they are making the Soron with.
