Came accross this video. Capain assisted with hand lining and you can't really see fish that well, no certified scale, blah, blah, but I thought you guys might enjoy it for what it is.
thanks for posting that last pic with the guy laying down along side the behemoth catch.
That Tuna is definitely in excess of 350#. That's a super cow and an absolute pig!
A couple years ago aboard the Royal Star, I had the pleasure of fish with Dave Hall who caught his personal best YFT on this trip that weighted 357# (RS carries a IGFA digital scale on board and catch was weighted within the hour). Dave is about 6'2" in height for reference and as you can see nose is on the deck.
FWIW I have caught YFT to 200 and seen YFT caught that weighed 306 after being frozen for 3 days. My 206 fish was 72 from the fork to the nose and had a girth of 50 inches. The YFT that weighed 306 was 79" inches from the fork to the nose, i do not remember the girth but it was around 60 inch mark.
FWIW on that same 10 day trip we had 40 YFT over 200lbs, and that fish is definately over 300lbs in my opion.
